The Grim Reaper
Description
'
A clumsy rookie reaper who uses her misfortune to torment her enemies. She was put in charge of collecting human souls. But in her carelessness, she lost the "List of the Dead," and cannot return to the Netherworld. The Grim Reaper relentlessly searches for the list so that she can go back home. While kind and innocent, she is cursed by bad luck.
Grim Reaper is a caster-type character with abilities focused around debuffing and disabling her opponents. Despite lacking any supportive abilities, the Grim Reaper fits nicely into a mid to late game party due to her consistent damage output, her stat modifying debuffs, and her deceptively strong Stealing Luck ability. From lowering stats and crowd control to outright one shotting enemies, this bashful Reaper is a force to be reckoned with.
Like the Ronin's YP, The Grim Reaper utilizes Spirit Points instead of mana. Unlike the Ronin, the Grim Reaper starts each dungeon with full SP and gains 1 SP at the start of her turns. To assist with SP management, the Grim Reaper has the Collect Floating Spirits skill, a 0 cost ability that gives SP based on the ability level and increases her SPD by 25 - 35%. This serves as a great way to gain SP and allows her to continue casting without forcing her to last hit enemies, although like to the Ronin, the Grim Reaper refills her SP on kills.
The Grim Reaper uses SP instead of mana which she has a maximum of 5. Her normal abilities cost 2 SP to use and her combo abilities cost 3 SP. The Grim Reaper gains SP back at the start of turns, from getting kills, and from using her Collect Floating Spirits skill. The Floating Spirits skill keeps the Grim Reaper's SP high (especially after leveling the skill) and lets her continue debuffing enemies.
Tips and Strategies[ | ]
The Grim Reaper is the only character without an ability to increase her survivability.
Don't underestimate the Stealing Luck skill as it works on Bosses. This lets you steal ridiculous boss buffs like 1000 damage shields or extra turns.
The Grim Reaper is strong while in the Rear but is strongest while in the Center, where she gains access to Soul Extraction and exceptionally important EVD and HIT debuffs.
Like the Sister and the Witch, the Grim Reaper as no abilities that alter her position meaning she has to waste a turn to move if out of position.
The Onmyoji has a tag team skill with the Grim Reaper: Recitation. This skill is instant kill attack that hits all enemies with a base 24% chance.
While the Grim Reaper gains SP on kills, using her to last hit is ill advised. Using Floating Spirits is a much better option as it gives SP back and increases her speed, freeing the Ronin to secure last hits.
Though the Grim Reaper deals damage constantly, she should be considered as a support character in formations due to her having no damage combos like the Shadow Blade's Collect Power or the Werewolf's Brand synergy.
